I have a Masters Degree in Business (MBA) and over 21 years experience in the hospitality industry. I have worked in busy student pubs, tourist destination pubs and restaurants, community pubs, fine dining restaurants & outside catering. I have set up and run my own venues and outside catering business since 2000, and won multiple and varied awards from 'Midlands Restaurant of the Year' from the Good Food Guide, 'Highly Commended Tourism Pub' from Visit England to 'Wish It Was My Local' from Olive Magazine. Plus many others.

I am passionate about running a business well that focuses on the people you work with and the people you work for whilst also understanding the bottom line and how to get what you need from the business.

Running your own business should be better than working for someone else. Yes it is hard and yes sometimes its relentless but it should be rewarding and when its not you need to know that you can ask for help.

In my 17 years running my own businesses I have had great successes but also made mistakes and found myself in great big holes that I needed to get myself out of. Listen to any majorly successful business person and, if they are honest, they will tell you the troubles that they have all faced. They will also tell you of the network of support and advice that they have had to help them move through and successfully solve these problems. The key to any sucess is to know when to get help and not try to do it all by yourself.

My lessons have been hard learnt but I am genuinely excited about sharing ideas, tricks and tips to steer you away from problems. There are indeed some 'right' answers - but in my experience every business owener has thier own ambitions and a unique set of issues that need to be balanced creating a unique series of options & strategies. For me this is the exciting bit of my job - finding the right options for the individuals involved.

I undertake a variety of consulting projects. These include everything from full turn key creations, so taking an idea and helping someone pull the whole project together from finding a premises, fitting out, finding key staff, training and marketing. Turnaround projects & business reviews where things are not going as well as they should and a business needs a fresh pair of eyes (and some good options to move things forward) to assistance with training, customer service, management, marketing and operational systems development.  Or, just a regular meeting to share ideas.

 When we work together you can expect me to be 100% committed to your project and business. I only take limited clients on so that I can totally immerse myself in your business, I will care about it as much as I do my own businesses.
